Terms of Use
Last updated September 23, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the LaneDesk website at lane-desk.com, including the interactive demo (together, the “Site”). The Site is provided by Lane Desk LLC, an Ohio limited liability company (“Lane Desk,” “we,” “us”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. Customer workspaces are covered by a separate agreement
Access to a LaneDesk customer workspace (the signed-in portal) is available only to organizations that have a written agreement with Lane Desk, such as a pilot or subscription agreement, and to users those organizations authorize. That agreement governs the customer workspace. If it conflicts with these Terms, the agreement controls. Signing in does not by itself create customer access or a service agreement.
2. LaneDesk is software, not a transportation provider
LaneDesk is software that helps shippers organize loads, quotes, tracking updates, and documents. Lane Desk is not a motor carrier, freight broker, freight forwarder, or shipper’s agent. We do not arrange, negotiate, or provide transportation, and we do not hold ourselves out as doing so. Decisions to request quotes, award or tender loads, and pay carriers belong to you, as do your relationships with those carriers and brokers.
3. The demo uses sample data
The interactive demo uses fictional companies, carriers, shipments, and rates. Actions in the demo, such as approving a tender, recording a milestone, or rating a carrier, change only the example data stored in your browser. They do not send messages, book transportation, or confirm capacity. Do not enter confidential rates, customer information, driver details, or credentials into the demo. Requesting a walkthrough or trial does not create an agreement; any trial or subscription requires a separate written agreement.
4. Carrier ratings and other information
Carrier and broker ratings in LaneDesk are opinions entered by users. They are not verification of a carrier’s safety record, insurance, operating authority, or on-time performance. Sample rates, transit times, and figures on the Site are illustrative. Before you use any carrier, confirm its authority, insurance, and safety status through official sources.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) attempt to access customer workspaces, accounts, or data you are not authorized to use; (b) probe, scan, or test the Site’s security except as described in our Security overview; (c) interfere with or overload the Site; (d) use automated means to copy the Site in bulk, other than ordinary search-engine indexing; (e) upload malware or unlawful content; or (f) use the Site to build a competing product or misrepresent your affiliation with Lane Desk.
6. Intellectual property
The Site, the LaneDesk software, name, and logo, and all related content belong to Lane Desk LLC or its licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Site for evaluating LaneDesk. Content you download from the Site, such as demo exports, is yours to use for that purpose. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.
7. Third-party links and services
The Site may link to third-party websites, such as a carrier’s tracking page. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, accuracy, or privacy practices.
8. Disclaimers
THE SITE AND DEMO ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that information on it is complete or current.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LANE DESK LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR FREIGHT, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100). This section does not limit liability under a signed customer agreement, which has its own terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to the Site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Ohio, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use the Site after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
